Visa-Exempt Nations
Visitors to Guyana are generally granted a maximum stay of up to 30 days upon entry, subject to approval by Immigration authorities.
A visa is not required for nationals of the following countries:
- Commonwealth countries
- United States of America
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Greece
- Ireland
- Italy
- Japan
- Republic of Korea (South Korea)
- Luxembourg
- The Netherlands
- Norway
- Portugal
- Spain
- Sweden
Visa Requirements for Non-Exempt Nationals
If you are a passport holder from a country that requires a visa to enter Guyana and are unable to apply through a Guyanese Embassy or Consulate, you may be eligible to obtain a visa on arrival.
To facilitate this process, travellers must submit an online application in advance through Guyana’s official eVisa platform.
We strongly recommend that you apply at least 4–6 weeks before your travel date
- Standard processing time is approximately 3 weeks, but this may vary depending on the case
- Upon approval, a confirmation letter will be emailed to you
- Travelers must present a printed or digital copy of this approval letter upon arrival in Guyana
Extending Your Stay in Guyana
If you wish to extend your stay beyond the initial duration granted upon entry, you must apply for an extension online.
Be sure to apply before your current permission to stay expires.
